Meet Sakshi

I have worked at Inspire for 3 years and it has been the best years of my career thus far. This company has such compassionate roots and Inspire’s mission to give back to the less fortunate is truly alluring. I can’t help but be compelled to be a part of the bigger picture and know that my contributions to this business will directly lead to life changing moments.

I find the most fulfilment in being able to provide genuine advice and support to young families with growing businesses. The impact I have has been life changing for my clients and there’s nothing more rewarding than being able to provide value to others lives.

Outside of Inspire

I have an amazing partner, Kaniq. I treasure the time I spend with my family & friends and take every opportunity I get to spend with them.

On any given weekend, you can often find me relaxing and recuperating, indulging in Netflix at home. One of my pastime passions is exploring different foods & restaurants of all kinds. Some may say I’m a ‘Foodie’ – rest assured, that is an understatement.

What is your favourite thing about working at Inspire?

Definitely the close-knit team culture that we have as well as how we’ve managed to protect and progress that culture, it’s been truly extraordinary. Everyone here has congruent visions and goals; that is helping our clients grow and thrive. We are all travelling along the same wavelength, driven with motivation. The atmosphere is electric and the smiles are contagious, how can you not fall in love with the culture?

How did you get interested in accounting and business?

Accounting actually runs in the family. Both of my parents have a background in Accounting and as I was unsure of what I wanted to pursue, I gave it a go and 10 years later I’m still loving it.

What is one of the biggest impacts you’ve made?

Creating a legacy of generational wealth for our clients is what we believe in. Many of our clients have so much profit but don’t know how to grow. I’ve had the privilege of working with one of our clients that was able to tax-efficiently pull money out of the business and gain 2 investment properties; for our client, it feels almost as if it came out of thin air.

What are some books you recommend?

I was recommended ‘The Leveraged business’ by Fabienne Frederikson by a client and I’ve found it to be really insightful in understanding business quality of life.

Which Sustainable Development Goal(s) do you choose and why?

I’d have to choose quality education and gender equality. I feel strongly about these two goals as there are young girls in many nations that don’t get the opportunity to receive a quality education.

Meet Jamie

I joined Inspire late 2019 and have not regretted it since! I love working with a team who’s dedicated to their work, giving back to the community and guiding business owners to achieve their dreams.

What fulfils me the most, is being able to help clients save tens-of-thousands of dollars in tax. It’s always so rewarding when you tell a client how much money you saved back into their pockets to re-invest back into the business or their family.

My role at Inspire is to support Account Managers and their clients. I’ve had the amazing opportunity to build client relationships and run my own client meetings to start building my own client base.

Outside of Inspire

I’m a proud dad, so I love spending every minute with my beautiful daughter, Luna (bell). As a family, we love going on picnics or walks along Sandgate beach with our dog, Jax. Otherwise, you can usually find me playing pool, drinking some beer with some mates and enjoying a good campfire in the yard.

As a side hustle, I run my own business renting our vehicles to ride-share drivers who either don’t have the capital to purchase a vehicle, or don’t want to worry about the maintenance and costs of owning a vehicle.

What is your favourite thing about working at Inspire?

The work “family” culture. I absolutely love all the people I work with and consider everyone a close friend outside of work. I just knew after working at a top-tier Accounting Firm, Inspire was exactly somewhere I wanted to be. I was super impressed with my first interview and was blown away about the concept of Thank You Circle on Fridays.

How did you get interested in accounting?

My uni lecturer was extremely passionate in accounting and she inspired me to be an Accountant. Accounting is more than just numbers and family is number one.

What is one of the biggest impacts you’ve made?

One of my biggest career highlights is being able to save a client $96,000.00 of tax!

What are some books you recommend?

‘Tomorrow When The War Began’ by John Marsden

Which Sustainable Development Goal(s) do you choose and why?

Jamie resonates with the Global Goal No Poverty – ”it shouldn’t exist, there are more than enough resources in the world to eliminate poverty!”

Meet Gargi

I’ve just started at Inspire and so far, the experience has been eye-opening. It’s so different from every other place I’ve worked at. I love the work that I do and I really feel like I’m making a difference in clients’ lives. I’ve found that all the accountants here have so much pride in their work. The accountants here are especially proactive, which I think is a very modern approach contrary to conventional accounting firms.

I think mainly solving problems, taking 1 step ahead and planning the future for clients is what I’m most excited about. I feel that my purpose is to make life changing differences in others’ lives. In the short time I’ve been here, hearing from a client that I’ve really helped them is so gratifying and gives me the impression that the work I’m doing is worthwhile.

Outside of Inspire

I enjoy hanging out with friends, and we really enjoy board games. When we have dinner and play some competitive board games, the atmosphere is so thrilling. As I moved here 5 years ago, my whole family is back in India. My only relative in Australia is my uncle so I cherish our moments together. I try my best to see him monthly; and internally, it’s comforting to know that he’s there to support me.

What is your favourite thing about working at Inspire?

The work culture and the type of work I’m doing every single day. I like how we’re not just colleagues, we’re friends. It’s a safe space, you can really speak your mind. We’re all from super different backgrounds and different stories and values, we’re very similar in helping out and wanting to make a difference. I like how involved i am in the clients’ businesses and it makes me feel apart of a bigger picture.

How did you get interested in accounting?

Accounting is something that always attracted me in school. I Opted for commerce in school at 15 and found that I really enjoyed the accounting side of it. I’m so calculative and was always analysing. When i did my bachelors. Wanted to look into the holistic side of it. Started in economics and realised i liked the idea more than the implementation. Liked accounting side of it more. and transitioned in accounting and information systems.

What is one of the biggest impacts you’ve made?

I think just taking the load off my team members and really trying to extend my hand. I feel like my team members think that I’m a great fit for the role as I’ve bonded so well with them and have taken a lot off their plates. I have devoted all my efforts to my work and consistently ensure that my work is quality. By being effective and efficient, I am able to contribute more of my time to the team which conversely gives my seniors more breathing room to produce better results.

What are some book you recommend?

I’ve been enjoying reading a book called ‘Emotional Intelligence’ by Daniel Goleman. It has been super insightful for me with regards to the motivations behind actions and feelings.

Which Sustainable Development Goal(s) do you choose and why?

My choices would be reduced inequality, peace and justice and strong institutions. I know that we can’t attain 100% equality in any spectrum of life, but we can always try to be better. I also feel that it is necessary that everyone deserves a fair chance with reduced inequality in life. Society suffers from failed systems.

Meet Karan

I’ve been at Inspire for 1 year and so far I’ve experienced explosive growth, both personally and professionally. It’s been one of the greatest learning experiences of my life and I’ve had the liberty to freely build a professional network with the clients. I am grateful to have found a workplace with Accountants that are proactive, rather than reactive, and that are always ahead of the game.

I am passionate about helping small businesses grow, helping them realise their financial goals, navigating the twists and turns of the economy, deep diving through tax law which can help a client make their business tax efficient, or piece the tax puzzle together for our clients; these types of moments are what I find truly fulfilling.

Outside of Inspire

Currently, I am living with my family. I’ve enjoyed every part of the experience so far and can confidently say that my sister-in-law’s cooking is Gordon Ramsay material. Everyone at Inspire can vouch for how delicious her food is, I love it. For my past times, you can find me binging web series – my favourites being Billions, and Suits.

I also thoroughly enjoy hiking with loved ones for some physical activity. An unorthodox interest of mine is staying on top of global financial news as I have a passion for financial markets, cryptocurrency and block chain technology.

What is your favourite thing about working at Inspire?

I can see an ocean of opportunity in everything that we do. In my brief time here, I have witnessed our team constantly expand and we’ve also recently taken on our talented virtual assistant Althea from the Philippines. You could say that our mindset here is to start local, think global; which I feel very passionate about.

How did you get interested in accounting?

I’ve always taken interest in maths and I’d say that numbers drove me to accounting. Coming from a family with deep generational roots in business, their exposure to me further fuelled my passion towards accounting as accounting is the language of business.

What is one of the biggest impacts you’ve made?

The biggest impact I’ve made at Inspire I’d say is when I helped a client that was struggling financially. I had put forth a case in front of the ATO and was met with objections for about a year before we were able to acquire a cashflow boost. The client was then pulled out of debt and they’d say that the lifeboat I threw to them was life changing.

What are some book you recommend?

I’d highly recommend Robert Zemeckis’ ‘Forrest Gump’ as well as ‘ The Pursuit of Happyness’ by Gabriele Muccino. Both movies of which I heavily relate to and see a little bit of myself in the protagonists.

Which Sustainable Development Goal(s) do you choose and why?

I’d have to choose Quality education. I feel that education will solve all the 16 other sustainable development goals.

Meet Sequoia

I’ve been at Inspire for almost a year now and my experience has been more than fantastic. I originally came from a work place I’d consider toxic and detrimental. I felt like I couldn’t escape, and since joining Inspire it’s felt like I’ve left one extreme to the next, where I’m now in an environment that’s so positive and motivating.

It’s been life changing – wanting to come to work every day is a huge difference. I really love just supporting everyone in the team, being able to take stress off their plate and being able to do such a diverse variety of things to support others. By making the Accountants’ lives easier, the business can thrive off their work.

Sequoia 2
Outside of Inspire

Outside of Inspire I live with the love of my life, a domestic shorthair black and white cat, Odin. Because most of my family isn’t here, Odin has become my closest companion. He is the most personable, cuddliest, best support I’ve ever had. Every couple of weekends, I get to cherish time with my mum.

I absolutely adore nature and want to go hiking every opportunity I get. I’ve become a passionate gardener, a hobbyist you could say. You can also often find me baking away to make treats for others because it brings me joy.

Sequoia 1
How did you get interested in client services?

I’ve been working full time since I was 17 and the majority of my roles have predominantly been in administration. I was offered a receptionist role in an accounting firm and now it just feels like it’s a part of me and it’s what I’m good at. Ultimately, I just like helping people and the role I’m currently in puts me in the best position to do more.

What is your favourite thing about working at inspire?

The culture. I am also extremely proud of the humanitarian work that Inspire does with B1G1, a relief foundation, which is one of the main reasons why I was compelled to start working here. Sometimes donations and contributions can be marketing efforts, but I can honestly say that Ben just cares.

I love the fact that I can reach out to anyone for absolutely anything and know that they’re there for me. It’s not just work to me, it’s family.

Sequoia 3
What is one of the biggest impacts you’ve made?

Just being able to help our Seniors and Juniors. Being able to take stuff off their plate so that they can simply go home on time and see their family means a lot to me. I allocate and delegate efficiently as well as step in when I’m needed to bring some instant relief and management. I just do my job and though it’s an indirect impact, just making their lives easier is important.

What are some book you recommend?

I’m in love with all books, please don’t make me choose. As for my favourite authors, I am a huge fan of Stephen King and Brandon Sanderson.

Sequoia 4
Which Sustainable Development Goal(s) do you choose and why?

I’ve always felt that quality education is important. I also think sustainable cities and communities should be a major goal. How can we accomplish any of the other sustainable development goals if we aren’t educated of these problems and our environment is unsustainable?

Meet Keiffer

A lot of good things came to me when I came to inspire as I am approaching my first month with the company. I can definitely see a different kind of opportunity to grow and hone my skills without having to worry about making mistakes. Our mistakes are criticised constructively and we’re encouraged to not worry about mistakes at all.

Here at inspire, you’re guided, praised and celebrated. I would say that this company has been the first place I’ve genuinely felt the essence of having a team and being a part of it.

This type of work is very new to me. Here in the Philippines we’re usually hired in any position and the scope of our role is specific to that position, whereas working with Inspire, we don’t have any boundaries set on our roles. It’s really great, it’s a fresh opportunity and Angela and Sequoia have been amazing leaders for me.

Outside of Inspire

Outside of Inspire, on week days, I stay in a dormitory which is 8 blocks away from the office. On weekends, I always take the chance to be at home with my family. Though my home is an hour’s commute away, I still always want to be with my family on weekends. I like to explore new places and discover good food around our region and always share those experiences with friends whenever I get the chance.

Going to church every Sunday has been a significant part of my life too. Sometimes I’m given the opportunity to lead worship songs and it’s really gratifying.

How did you get interested in client services & virtual assistance?

I was interested the moment I heard about the company, even just the name intrigued me. My past experience as an accounting clerk has taught me a lot which has developed my skills for this role. I had graduated in accounting so having to work in an accounting work environment is really what I’m looking forward to and its also a great opportunity to discover some new beginnings.

What is your favourite thing about working at inspire?

My favourite thing about working at Inspire would be the flexibility I have with the hours given that Australia is 2 hrs ahead of the Philippines. I love the company’s culture, I’m really enjoy working with everyone and I feel as if Inspire is a great fit for my personality and values. I can really connect with the inspire mission statement and the purpose of the work that we do.

What is one of the biggest impacts you’ve made?

I feel like one of the biggest impacts that Rhody and I have made is that we’ve been able to lessen the workload of our managers, Angela and Sequoia. As a result of our work, they can do a lot more work that they otherwise couldn’t have fulfilled with their given capacity. Rhody and I are very much looking forward to learn more from our managers/mentors.

I really respect their advice and really take their words to heart. It makes me happy that they appreciate my work as well.

What are some book you recommend?

I would highly recommend ‘Verity by Colleen Hoover’. My college friend suggested that I read it. Whenever I had time, I took the chance to really get into that book. Though I don’t read many books, verity had a great impression on me.

Which Sustainable Development Goal(s) do you choose and why?

I would choose Quality Education, it’s really not a hard decision for me. Having a proper education is equivalent to a life skill which can really be applied wherever you go; it will also open many doors and future job opportunities.
